Understanding + Navigating Eclipse Seasons ~ 2025

Eclipse seasons happen every year. Astrologically, eclipses occur on a Full or New Moon and happen in pairs (sometimes threes). I find it helpful to think of the weeks surrounding them as a “season,” with each eclipse as its own “portal.” The heightened energy tends to stretch a couple of days on either side of the event itself.
In 2025 there are four eclipses, across two distinct eclipse seasons: two in the spring, and two in the fall.
The first eclipse season unfolded in March–April 2025.
The second is happening now, beginning with a total lunar eclipse in Pisces on Sunday, September 7th at 11:11 am PT, followed by a partial solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st, right on the cusp of the Fall Equinox.
The two weeks between September 7th and September 21st form what’s called an eclipse portal — a liminal window where time can feel accelerated, chaotic, or unpredictable.
A total lunar eclipse is like a super-charged full moon: it heightens emotions, brings relationship dynamics into focus, and can be deeply cathartic. It’s a time of release and surrender into the fertile darkness, where we are invited to remember our wholeness and our innate connection with the universe.
Another way to picture it: during the 24–48 hours of an eclipse, it’s as if the cosmic WiFi router gets unplugged and then plugged back in — a necessary reset. Whatever “downloads” you were receiving from the cosmos beforehand may pause or shift, so extra patience is key. After the intensity of these last five years, gentleness and compassion with yourself is the medicine most of us need.
Eclipses can be thought of as cosmic resets or “dark phases” best approached with rest and softness. And 2025, already a compressed and intense year, makes that even more true. Each of us will experience them differently, depending on factors like nourishment, energetic sensitivity, and where we are in our healing journey.
Generally speaking, eclipse portals aren’t ideal for heavy manifesting or pushing big projects forward. Greater ease comes when we pause, slow down, and give space to what wants to surface.
Eclipses often reveal something, they can reveal our hidden issues, hidden desires, the things that have been in the shadows, just beneath the level of conscious awareness.
Ascension symptoms, shadow parts and old emotional triggers often heighten during eclipse portals - so focusing on your own healing during eclipse seasons will help you reap big rewards.
By slowing down during an eclipse season to really face, feel and heal whatever is arising within you and your life, this enables you to make a quantum leap in consciousness - and on your very real human journey - as you come out the other side of the eclipse portal.

These tips are designed to support you through any eclipse season — or really any astrologically or energetically intense period on Earth. Bookmark this post so you can return to it whenever you need extra support.
You may also find it helpful to weave these practices into your everyday life. They’re not just for eclipse season — they can steady you through the ups and downs of the healing path, spiritual awakening, and physical ascension. The more awake and sensitive we become, the more vital these simple practices are.

Slow down
You have permission to go at a pace that feels good to you.
Slow Down.
Remember that your life is not a race to be won (neither is awakening or ascension) and that no one can fulfill your divine destiny but you. Rome was not built in a day which metaphorically speaking means that anything that you are meant to create that contributes to your legacy of love on this planet takes time.
When you slow your breathing down, your whole nervous system receives permission to relax.
Allow yourself to slow the pace down at which you move throughout your day by 20-30%.
Ease up on your expectations of yourself, especially if you are healing the wound of perfectionism, people pleasing or the wound of ”I am not enough”. Instead of trying to do more faster (the old hustle culture way of doing things), remember in the new nourished paradigm that how you do things is just as important as what you are doing.
Create space in your life 🧘🏿♂️
One of the easiest ways to do this is everyday take at least one thing OFF your daily to do list and work to let go of not trying to cram as much as possible into your daily schedule. Give yourself more space between tasks, meetings, appointments.⏱
Build in pauses or moments of “white space” time in your day, in the week, in the month and in the year. This will help your nervous system to relax and your ego to unwind and integrate.
You will likely find you become more productive by demanding less of yourself. As for your spiritual to-do list, we recommend you just throw that out the window. ;)
Simplify. Simplifying your life can also mean cutting out unnecessary distractions and clutter - this can include everything from decluttering your home/office/garage/storage units and getting rid of excess possessions, to clearing out events in your social calendar that do not feel good, to letting go of relationships that do not serve your highest good and do not feel good to your heart.
Spend more time in nature.
Another way to allow yourself to feel connected to the energy of spaciousness and simplicity, is to spend time in nature. Going out in nature is a free and easy tool to assist your body with ascension and eclipse season related symptoms. All of nature lives in harmony. Through the constructs of our mind we can feel separate from nature and often separate from life itself. When we take time to connect with Mother Earth / Gaia / the natural world, it helps us to remember that this harmony, and living in flow with natural cycles and seasons, is in fact our true nature as well.
Get enough rest...
Get more rest and allow yourself to sleep more when you need it. There is so much healing and integration that happens naturally when we bypass the judgements of our minds and allow our bodies more sleep or rest. When you give yourself time to just rest, to just be - you are actually giving your body a welcome relief and a chance to catch up on its healing journey. If you have morning flexibility try not to set an alarm clock and wake up when your body naturally wants to wake up. If that’s not possible during the week, try it on the weekends. Step 7 below will also help improve the quality of your sleep.
Aim to minimize time around EMFs and electronics.⚡️
As much as possible, obviously many of us are connected to technology for work and our livelihoods, but we do not need to be “plugged in” 24-7 to the low grade radiation that these devices emit. By keeping your devices on airplane mode or turning them off when you aren’t using them - and by taking breaks off of technology to spend time in nature, create art, exercise, cook, meditate, spend time with loved ones in person - you are giving your body and your nervous system a much needed break from technology overload.
Try eating your meals without being on devices to help your body with digestion and to allow your body to go into rest and digest mode.
PRO TIP: Turn the WIFI off at night and keep technology out of the bedroom where you sleep, especially at night! This will help your sleep cycles and your body immensely. It’s also recommended you greatly limit screen time 2 hours before bed.
Stay nourished + hydrated
This could be an entire article all on its own, but by eating regular, nourishing meals and staying hydrated by drinking at least 72 oz of filtered, purified water a day (or approximately half your body weight in oz a day) you can help yourself to stay more balanced. Following tip number 9 below will also help you to stay better hydrated and nourished. There are so many tips and rules and guidelines on how to eat out there it can feel crazy-making. Often we need to do some trial and error to find out what best serves us and our bodies. There TRULY is no one size fits all approach to eating.
Some diets that work really well for some people can do more harm than good to certain types of bodies, going raw, vegan can be harmful for some, just as going keto can be harmful for others. I believe eating should be pleasurable, intuitive and focused on eating as organically, sustainably and as close to the Earth as possible, as in limiting processed foods as much as possible, not eating GMOS and tons of chemicals, etc.
(Personally, I have found the Blood Type Diet to give some pretty on point guidelines on eating based on our epigenetics. Eating this way has been really supportive to my body and goes along with what it intuitively likes to eat for the most part.)
Limit stimulants
Stimulants include caffeinated beverages (such as coffee, black tea, cacao, energy drinks), alcohol, tobacco, sugar, processed foods, chemical additives, pharmaceuticals like Adderall (which contain amphetamines). Too much technology, constantly streaming devices and bright lights also can be overstimulating to our nervous system. Stimulants throw your body off its own natural rhythms and when combined with intense energies on the planet that happen during eclipses, can make your daily life feel like a rollercoaster ride. What goes up, must go down.
Eclipses can drum up the shadows so book a session with a trusted energy healer, therapist, alternative health practitioner.
Eclipses can also provide necessary cosmic support for deeper healing and transformation. As always choose a healer or practitioner you trust and who feels good to work with, this is key to not causing further harm to yourself. Please choose a professional ally who feels emotionally safe and please do not work with anyone who perpetuates the cycles of shame, guilt, trauma or abuse you may have faced in the past.
